Photo de Thérèse Rivière (1901-1970) Thérèse Rivière, soeur de Georges-Henri Rivière, directeur du musée national des arts et traditions populaires, était responsable du département "Afrique blanche et Levant" au musée ethnographique du Trocadéro. Elle part de 1934 à 1937, avec sa jeune collègue Germaine Tillion, dans l'Aurès pour étudier les modes de vie des berbères chaouïa. Elle y fait de nombreuses photographies, des films et collecte des objets. Née en même temps que la conquête coloniale, la photographie a toujours accompagné l’Algérie. Cette exposition n’est cependant pas une histoire de l’Algérie par l’image.
